Glad to see you're back! It's time to reflect on my first anime convention experience as a whole. J1Con is much smaller than most cons out there but I had fun because it was like the last big social occasion for me before the summer ended. Luis and I hosted our good friend Lysee [Lysee6 on Twitch] and we all spent the weekend in our city. We met Lysee through Twitch and have known him for over a year now. It was a blast having him stay with us because we really enjoy the company. Both of us are always working during different hours so it makes it difficult for us to plan anything with others. It was a nice break from everything and I still ended up streaming every day but the streams were more casual and laid back. Lysee brought Miku on the PS4 and I had a serious practice session. It's so hard trying to transition from 3DS to a controller where the buttons are FLIPPED. We took Lysee to some of our favorite places around the city! Ikea, ACMoore, Chinatown, and Gamestop. Don't judge us alright! Ikea has the best food and it's crazy affordable. If you hang out with us we will make sure you are comfortable and that you save money. We are a simple couple and we really do not need luxurious things to be happy. I've realized that some of my most memorable moments in life are not the ones where I was out at some fancy restaurant but just at home spending time with friends. I have learned to truly appreciate the time spent with the people I care about because once you get older schedules start to clash. Everyone has their own thing going on and it's almost impossible to meet up. Conventions bring internet friends together. This weekend was special to me and although I have plenty complaints about J1Con it was worth to have a close friend come to visit! It was not pricey at all but I think I'm going to save up to go to a better anime convention later down the line.
I can't say that this is my first time cosplaying because I went all out one year for Halloween with a Harley Quinn costume. I made her big hammer and everything! What's different this time is that didn't attend a convention or huge event so I was a bit nervous about dressing up. I really wanted to do an Animal Crossing cosplay and thought that Reese and Cyrus would be fun to attempt with Luis. Lysee was supposed to wear a red new leaf that I painted for him but it didn't dry in time. He ended up wearing a Resetti shirt and we didn't notice until the last day that we never took a proper group photo.
Happy September everyone! This post and the next one on the way will still be focused on events that happened in August. I was very focused on growing as a content creator this summer and I feel that I accomplished a lot of the goals I had set for myself. These past few months have gone by very fast for me but I am more than ready for Fall. I am looking forward to sweater weather and big anniversaries coming up! Luis and I will be celebrating 3 years together in November. October marks my 2 years on Twitch as a streamer and December is when I got partnered. I usually get carried away during the introduction part for most of my blog posts so this time I will try to keep it short and sweet. I just always have so much to say I'm sorry! I'm glad I was able to finally find time to finish this post. What are we going to be talking about today? I introduce to you: THE BIG BOX HAUL! Subbies sent me big boxes filled with incredible stuff that I just have to show off. I opened up everything on stream and it felt neverending! I kept taking out more and more items. I couldn't breathe by the end of it because it was all so unexpected. I want to thank Sampai, Sailrrvenus, and Hecksmaniac for putting together such lovely care packges.
More cards from hecksmaniac! Welcome Amiibo cards are basically extinct now so I am always happy to receive more. They are so hard to find nowadays and I really wish they didn't discontinue them. I have never seen this "Lovely Majory" witch character before but I am obsessed with that fluffball with the one eye.
