It's finally here! I HAVE BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR THE WORLDWIDE POCKET CAMP RELEASE. I know a lot of people have been playing since the Australian version was leaked but I think I've actually caught up in just a few days. The game is incredible and the graphics are beautiful! If you are a devoted Animal Crossing fan like me you already know how painful it is because there's not a lot of news and updates like other games. We have been blessed for TWO years in a row! Last year was the Animal Crossing: New Leaf Welcome Amiibo drop and this year we got a mobile game. I really hope they add more villagers to the roster because it's unacceptable that Kitty is not available. I hope you enjoy my quirky guide on how to have the best experience in this game!

DECORATING

It was hard to decorate at first because you don't have much to work with at the start. Some of the furniture these villagers ask for are hideous and I don't even end up using it. I guess this game kind of forces you to be simplistic because there is an ITEM LIMIT. MY WORST NIGHTMARE.

AMENITIES

Picture
Picture
The tent is always the base for the bigger PWPs. PWP IS WAY EASIER TO SAY OK. NEWLEAF4EVER. It doesn't matter what theme you chose for your camp you can still craft all the available tents. Each PWP can be leveled up and once you MAX it out you can then build something like a Tree Swing for example. You only have 2 amenities at a time! If you want to put a new one out the other one will be stored in your inventory. You do not lose any amenities you have previously built.

Cute Tent (LEVEL 3) → Tree Swing
Tree Swing (LEVEL 5) → Merry-Go-Round
Sporty Tent (LEVEL 3) → Half-Pipe
Natural Tent (LEVEL 3) →  Picnic Set

INVITING CAMPERS

The max amount of villagers you can have at your campsite is 8. I'm raging because why did we take step backwards? WE CAN HAVE 10 IN NEW LEAF SO I DEMAND 15. Anyways, if you want to invite in a new villager you have to make sure there is an empty spot. If not, that's still okay because they will be added to your list. You will watch the short scenario where they use the furniture and they will just tell you to let them know when there's more room. It's very easy to send villagers home. Once they are invited, you can choose to bring them back whenever you want even if they are not on your map at the time. They are saved to your list and can be brought back in.
Picture

FURNITURE PLACEMENT

You get to watch a short preview of the villager using all the furniture you crafted for them once you invite them over! There is an "auto-arrange" option which is really nice because it just dumps the required furniture then you can delete the changes before saving. Use "self-arrange" if you plan on using the furniture anyway but honestly I would just wait because you can redecorate back the campsite.

MOVING OUT AND SWITCHING CAMPERS

Picture
To manage who is at your campsite, click on the cat icon located under the menu tab. You can only access this when you are at your campsite.
Picture
Click on the villager you want to move out. Use the "send home" button and you will then see a circle plus sign icon. That's a freebie spot!
Picture
All the villagers you have officially invited with their required furniture and all will appear on this list. Pick anyone you want! It doesn't save automatically so you need to make sure you hit that confirm button.

Picture

If you click on the level button in the top left corner it will show you exactly what you get as a bonus for the next level. For some levels you only receive the bells and tickets.

Picture
Your friendship level with each villager is very important because it's the only way to level up in game. You do not gain experience through other side missions and activities. A small heart appears on your screen after you reach a new level with a villager!~

FRIENDSHIP REWARDS

Villagers will gift you their original shirt once friendship hits level 7. They all have something different to give you at level different level milestones. Look at their profile to see the list so you can decide who you want to focus on. TBH, villys who give the best stuff are going to get my attention.
Note: Villagers do not have to be at your campsite to give your friendship rewards.

YAY LEVEL 10-20 REWARDS! BUT CAN YOU AFFORD IT!??? I was so excited about the makeup case I literally crafted it without even checking the price and it was 10,000 bells. Please calm down and think about the consequences of your actions in this game. I thought that they would just give the item to you but you have to make it yourself LOL.

The special request items are not cheap to make. They are all around 9,000-10,000 bells and require sparkle stones. I just want to let everyone know right now that it takes 16 hours for the pancakes to finish. 1 6 H O U R S F O R P A N C A K E S???
Picture
Picture
Once you have made the item, be sure to put it at your campsite and confirm with the villager. They have to be at your campsite for this to work! It will make them very happy! ´◡`
Note: Do not talk to them if they are currently maxed out. I did this with Punchy and missed out on the +10 friendship points.

Rewards aren't too bad either! 1k bells, request ticket, and a calling card! Stacks on stacks.

MAX LEVEL VILLAGERS

Picture
Villager friendship levels will be maxed out at 7 UNLESS YOU HAVE THE TENT THAT MATCHES THEIR THEME. Villagers will require the next build once they hit a certain level which is usually around 15. If you don't plan on building a tent for them yet or don't have enough resources for it I suggest you to send them home. Send them home while it's under construction as well. Do not keep maxed out villagers at your camp because you are wasting potential points that could be given to another villager. Let's use Cherry as an example. She is cool and most of the PWPs I have are CUTE THEME so at the unveiling parties or whenever I talk/do requests for her it will stay at 7 forever until I do something about it. I NEED the cool tent in order to continue leveling her up. Villagers who have already stayed at your campsite CAN BE INVITED BACK IMMEDIATELY. You do not have to find them again on the map. For this reason, it's better to kick them out while you focus on other villagers. I would rather level up as many villagers as possible because they are the ones who help me level up in the first place. It's better to let other villagers stay in the meantime and bring back the maxed out villager when you are ready. Once you have built the required tent for a villager, it does not have to be at your campsite. As long as you have made it you can level up that villager once again!
Note: If there is a maxed out villager who has not been invited to your campsite and shows up on your map you should just leave them be. You will not get any points from them.

Picture
Villagers who visit your world will have an icon on the map! A check mark next to their name means that you have all the required resources they want! It will not show if you are missing something so be sure to click on them to double check what you still need.
Picture
The options shown in red indicates that you will gain friendship points with them! They will always give you a nice reward after you finish a request. It's rare but sometimes I'll get x1 essence from a villager for completing a request. This usually happens when I am at a higher level with him (around level 10)~ Most of the time it's only found after you level up their friendship with them.
Note: You can still talk and do requests for them when they are living at your campsite. NOT ALL villagers will ask for something! I usually only have two max (at my campsite) who request. You can chat with all your villagers for minimal points every 30 minutes.

REQUEST REWARDS

A lot of the furniture that you craft in this game requires a certain type of essence.
Cute villager → Cute essence
Cool villager → Cool essence
ETC.

NEW VILLAGERS

Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
The villagers that you unlock seem to be random when you level up. I have seen others get villagers I have yet to run into at lower levels than me. I am almost positive that the villagers you unlock along the way depends on the theme you chose for your campsite. Since I have a cute campsite I've noticed that cute themed villagers are the most frequent to show up.

Picture
When a new villager is added to your contact list they will unlock a bunch of new furniture for your catalog to craft! Most of the stuff they bring will be on the required furniture list for them to move in.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
I don't know why furniture is so elite in this game but things get DIFFICULT after awhile. There are no refurb options so you have to wait for villagers to unlock another color. ONCE THAT HAPPENS YOU NEED THE OLD COLOR TO CRAFT THE NEW COLOR. I didn't want to give up my white lovely chair in the camp so I decided to make a second one for the pink version. I want Bitty to move in eventually so  I really had no choice.
Note: The furniture cannot be in use at your campsite. It has to be in your inventory if you want to use to to make something else.
Picture

COMPLETED VILLAGER FURNITURE SETS

Once you have crafted all the required furniture items for a certain villager AND THEY ARE AT THE REQUIRED LEVEL you will have an option to invite them to your camp. That invite text will stay on their picture until you decide to bring them in. Even if everything refreshes and you have different villagers on your map you can still choose to invite them into your campsite.
Note: If you finish building all the furniture for a villager who is not on your map at the time this invite button will still show as long as they are at the required level.

I have used a few request tickets for villagers who give me the essence I am looking for. I really wanted to level up my tent so I was desperately trying to collect more cute essence. A villager will always reward you with their themed essence after you level up your friendship with them! It's hard to come across villagers at first so these are necessary sometimes. It was almost impossible to get cute essence when I first started playing so when I had a cute villager on my map I finished all initial requests when you first meet them and then used a ticket. It's worth if you want to quickly level up with a villager. Do not use these regularly because they are pretty hard to get. You do earn more as you level up but I think it's only for emergency purposes. ONLY USE THESE WHEN YOU HAVE A GOOD AMOUNT OF TIME LEFT! If the villager is leaving in a few minutes you might not have time to find the resources to complete the three new requests.
Note: You will not be allowed to "chat" with them again for points after using this ticket!
It's only used for requests. Max 3 request tickets allowed for one villager at a time.

Picture
Call cards should not be used unless you are having a hard time with getting a specific villager to show up on your map when you have already unlocked them. You are be able to meet them for the first time during the next rotation after they have been added to your contact list. It starts to get tricky after your list gets longer because there are more villagers that need to cycle. A lot of the villagers require level 5+ if you want them to move in and you simply can't reach that in one encounter.
Note: You have to call a villager at one of the various locations. A call card cannot be used at your Campsite, OK Motors, or the Marketplace.
Picture
Once you have made the call, they will appear at your desired spot! I recommend you to finish the first few requests and then use a request ticket for additional friendship points. This is a guaranteed way to reach level 5 with a villager! You must complete all resource requests and talk with them. Before doing this, make sure you have all the furniture ready for them to move in. Give yourself time! A call card should be used once you know you are ready to invite.
Picture
Picture
This method is only for those who are impatient like me. You can totally wait however long for your desired villager to show up on your map. A call card just speeds up the whole process.
Picture

Picture
Leaf tickets are used to speed things up in the game. If you don't have enough materials when trying to craft something you can use leaf tickets to substitute. It's not always worth so be careful what you use your leaf tickets on. I went for the Nook bath tub option because how could I call myself a true Animal Crossing addict if I didn't? With all these tickets I was able to buy the camper design I wanted and finish a few amenities early. I have plenty left to feel comfortable for a long time.
Note: Leaf tickets will not help you level up any faster in the game. They help you with more luxury purchases. You can still ball out on a budget but leaf tickets are a blessing when you don't have enough materials to build something.
Picture

Picture
Picture
Some of the furniture or amenities that become available around level 20 or so require a ridiculous amount of materials or essence. Villagers only give you x1 or x3 at a time so it could take a while to stock up on enough for everything you want to build. I SEEM TO ALWAYS BE LOW ON WOOD. WOOD IS OP.
Picture
My Nintendo offers materials and items in exchange for platinum points. You can buy any missing materials by going to the page! Pocket Camp has a shortcut where you can access the page directly from the app. Go to the "more" menu at the bottom right.
Picture
The 50 leaf tickets can only be redeemed once. Same with the OK Motors outfit but I haven't bought it myself. EVERYTHING ELSE YOU CAN BUY AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT! WOOD FOR DAYS.
Note: Sometimes when you log into MyNintendo through the app it will show a lower amount of coins. It will say I have 50 while I am in the game using the menu but if I log on through my computer//browser it says I have 800+
It's very strange and has happened to multiple people. Just be aware of this.

Picture
Picture
The friend feature is really nice in Pocket Camp. It gives me New Leaf vibes because you can easily visit your friends campsites! All you have to do is send a request or have them add your code. You don't need to open your gates or anything like that because they have the option to go to your campsite whenever they feel like it.

Picture
Classic Nintendo not letting you have more than 100 friends. This is even more interesting because it's current friends + ONGOING requests. At first I was just accepting EVERYONE who was adding but then I got this message. I had to clear some people off my list and make a form for those who want to stay friends. If you would like me to add you, please fill out your information here.
Picture
Picture
Earn friend powder by visiting friends and giving them kudos! Claps for everyone :)
Note: Timed goals will sometimes show a mission for this!

MARKET BOX

There is only one complaint I have about the game and it's about how you can't view someone's entire market box from the friend list display. You also have to visit them if you want to buy something. When exploring your world you might run into a friend's character! Click on them and you will be able to see everything in the box.
Picture
I love that you guys want to flex and show off the rare catches but once you put something in your market box there is no way to get it back. because you just have to wait until someone buys it from you. I don't want to pay 10,000 for a name brand bag at the flea you think I want to buy your slimy fish for 30,000!??? NAHHHHH. SAVE YOUR EXPENSIVE FISH. No one really needs it because villagers always ask for basic things. It's silly to put in your market box because there is a very low chance someone will want it. If you want it there for display then by all means go ahead!
I love you Panda :3
-No shots intended-
Thanks for the fruit~
Picture
Take a look at your items and click on the apple tab. You will see all your fruit, fish, and shells. There will be an option NEXT to "List for Sale" that say "SELL" Use this sell button instead to get instant bells for the same price. I highly suggest you to hold onto your rare belongings. If I am ever desperate for bells this is what I'll do.
